Cold Heat introduces their new CO2 Equivalent Calculator that provides
the t CO2 eq and maximum interval between leak testing for air conditioning units for a given F-Gas Type. The CO2 Equivalent
Calculator is intuitive and therefore very easy to use following the steps below.
Steps to use the Cold Heat CO2 Equivalent Calculator
- Access the CO2 Equivalent Calculator on our Leak Test Information page (opens in a new browser tab or window).
- From the dropdown list, select the Type of F-Gas relevant to the air conditioner unit you wish to check
- Enter the mass of the gas (which is the weight in KGs)
- Select the Calculate button and the tonnes CO2 equivalent (often referred to as t CO 2 eq) and the maximum interval between leak
tests will be displayed.
That's all there is to it, repeat as required for other type of F-Gas and use the Clear Form button to remove previous entries, if required.
Please note that the calculator is provided by Cold Heat as a guide to assist you in determining the tonnes CO2 equivalent (t CO 2 eq) and the maximum interval between leak tests for your gas type, it does not, and is not intended, to replace the advice of a qualified HVAC engineer.
Therefore, please use the calculator in good faith in preparation to speaking to a qualified engineer.
